'the bobcat's charred corpse was found on the ground beside the power pole'
A bobcat climbing up a power pole started a fire that engulfed 5 acres of land in California - and paid the ultimate price.
The bobcat set off a fire that burned 5 acres of brush in California's Ventura County, after it apparently climbed up the electricity pylon while chasing a bird.
Unfortunately for the bobcat - and indeed for the 5 acres of brush - it touched the power lines, got electrocuted, and promptly caught fire.
The burning bobcat fell to the ground, where it set off the blaze, which took 40 firefighters about five hours to extinguish.
No people were hurt in the fire, but the bobcat's charred corpse was found on the ground beside the power pole.
