(Yeah, Ace several of those were mentioned, in older posts.)

The Flowers of War

I still feel that Empire of the Sun has some of the deepest moments and most beautiful cinematography of most of the top 10 War flicks of WWII...that P51 flying over the airfield was stunning.

Some good films here. May I suggest the Young Lions with Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, and Dean Martin.

My top four:

My first two favorites are POW films.

Two classics The Bridge on the River Kwai with Alec Guinness, William Holden, Jack Hawkins, and Sessue Hayakawa.

Next, The Great Escape with Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, James Coburn, David McCalum, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasence, Gordon Jackson, James Donald, and Hannes Messemer

Then, Midway with Henry Fonda, Charlton Heston, Glenn Ford, Robert Mitchum, Hal Holbrook, James Coburn, Cliff Robertson, Robert Webber, Robert Wagner, Toshirô Mifune and James Shigeta

And lastly, The Battle of Britain with Michael Caine, Christopher Plummer, Ian McShane, Laurence Olivier, Trevor Howard, and the late Robert Shaw.
