Best news coverage? If you mean the least-biased, I'd have to say that NewsHour With Jim Lehrer on PBS probably comes closest to hitting the mark.
I agree with Rey that Reuters is ordinarily a pretty neutral source for information online as well.
Newspaper? I can't think of one that doesn't have a slant one direction or the other. USA Today would like its readers to think it is unbiased, but Al Neuhearth is definitely a left-leaner so that premise pretty much goes out the window.
Yeah, I fogot about Jim Lehrer. I don't get PBS on my satellite though, so I miss seeing that.
When it comes to news outlets, I like data. It's OK to have an opinion of some sort, but if you can't show me (with data) how you got there, I'm inclined to switch the channel. That's what I do like about Bloomberg, and why I don't watch Fox Bizziness News or CNBC (
Constant
Nonsense and
Bull
Crap) any longer. That's what I like about Reuters, and why I don't pay much attention to certain other papers and websites.
Some people seek out only those news outlets that agree with their point of view - true of the left and the right. I don't figure that I'm right 100% of the time, so I like being faced with information (in the form of hard data) that makes me ask myself questions about what I believe and why I believe it.
