Is there a thread about this already? Anyway I've been listening to a lot of Laibach recently who do some awesome covers, hard to choose a favourite but here's their version of Life Is Life

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
I can't stand when bands play cover songs and put it on an album. It's one thing if you're playing somebody else's song at a concert, just to keep the crowd going, but when you put somebody else's song on YOUR ALBUM, I find it to be completely disrespectful.

I especially hate when bands release albums that are nothing but cover songs. Even my favorite band, Def Leppard, did that. :( Why Lep, why?

"Back Door Man" -The Doors
"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" -Eric Clapton
"All Along The Watchtower" -Jimi Hendrix

and many, many more....too many to name

I´m guessing you´re not a fan of The Detroit Cobras (perhaps the best band in the world right now).

Some favourites:

Cowboy Junkies - Sweet Jane (original by The Velvet Underground)
Whiskeytown - A Song For You (original by Gram Parsons)
The Detroit Cobras - Shout Bama Lama! (original by Otis Redding)
Nightwish - Walking In The Air (original from the movie The Snowman)
The Dictators - Slow Death (original by The Flamin´ Groovies)
The Jesus & Mary Chain - Kill Surf City (original by The Beach Boys (Surf City))
The Pogues - The Band Played Waltzing Matilda (original by Eric Bogle)
Sahara Hotnights - Rockaway Beach (original by Ramones)
Entombed - Night of The Vampire (original by Roky Erickson)
The Cardigans - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (original by Black Sabbath)
Johnny Cash - Hurt (original by Nine Inch Nails)

PlasmaTwa2

The Second-Hottest Man in my Mother's Basement
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Rammstein - Stripped

And the worst cover of all time is Guns N Roses 'Live and Let Die'. That's all the radio station here plays. What the fuck. Play the good version!
