This subject came up on another thread and I still shake my head trying to imagine it. Commercial content and distribution are self sustainable. Is this TV tax/licensing thing anything more than a money grab? How does the government justify this kind of thing to the citizens?
I watched several of those "BBC Goon" videos, and I'm still not unclear on whether or not having a tv license over there is a legal requirement. The fuck can I say, though, I pay out the nose for expanded cable plus HBO.

I did a little digging. It looks as if you are caught using any kind of a signal you have to pay an annual licensing fee. Even if it is over the airwaves with rabbit ears. Imagine having to worry about having a guy knocking at your door demanding to look at your TV hook up? You did say you have a gun, right?
