Batman is dead.

Just like DC "killed" Superman.

Vendor were giving Superman's comics away at comic conventions because they printed too many of them.

So, don't rush out and buy this, thinking it will be worth a lot of money.

I collect comics because I like them. Not for an investment.

He'll be back..

Just like Superman

Cpt America, etc

I don't follow comics extremely close, but I know the basics of the Marvel and DC's universes. I have come to the conclusion that after tens of years of different storylines, these current universes have become mostly incomprehensible and full of crap for anyone who is not a hardcore geek. Every 15 or 20 years they must do re-boots and start anew with new and fresh renditions of the characters and their stories. It won't hurt also if they use less writers with more consistent ideas, so everything would seem more fluid and easier to comprehend in the long term.

I thought Captain America was still dead, or at least the person he was originally was still dead.

BTW...Does anybody else notice how comic book characters don't age. :1orglaugh

Captain America is dead. Buckey (The Winter Soldier) is back. Bad move by Marvel.

Comic book characters don't age much because they only have twelve issues a year. So, they are not on our time table.

What is the point of killing them anyway? Does anyone even still buy comic books?

the majority of humanity still think that male pornstars have moustache's. the top selling comic book of every month averages 150,000, and that's just the top selling book. So yes people still buy comic books.

someones under a rock.

This why I don't read comics, I respect comics since so many good fictional characters started off in comics but why do these comic book companies always do these desperate things to sell them?
Batman will be brought back eventually in comic books just like Superman and Green Arrow if I'm not mistaken? Batman is still very much alive in all the other media adaptations of him. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they kill him off once before in the 80s in one of those comics written by Frank Millar or was that not considered part of the main Batman storyline/continuation in the comics at that time?

Was there finally a villain with good aim or did he rip his arms off his body with one of those gadgets he uses to climb buildings.

No, they are just replacing him for awhile. I have a thread about this in the game forum.

Also, there are many different comic genres. So, you can still read them if you want. In the Savage Dragon's comic most of the characters do not die and come back. ;)

Frank Miller's, "The Dark Knight Returns", is not in Continuity.

It is like an Elseworld's story.
