I did not want to convert this thread into Bush discussion, that's why I even did not mention him in my post, saying just about "government".
The fact is, that with Saddam there were no radical islamic rebels, and no al-queda activity in Iraq. And even if the aim of US invasion was "to help", it was strange that grown-up people did not understand that under war conditions a very comfortable environment would be created for all that radicals and extrimists to jump in.
But the most fucked up thing, is that now, as soon as we ain't got no time machine to prevent the invasion in the past, I do not think that US forces should be taken back from Iraq. Cuz it will be even more cruel: to come in the country with help, to ruin the whole situation, to bring all that chaos, and than to say "sorry, we think we gotta go away, guys"... What it will be after that? This is very said. After one wrong move, you are involved in a very bad circle of things, and it is hard to get out of it. This is what going on Iraq right now. It like Pandora's box was opened, and as for me - I do not know how to close it again (just to quit - will not be a solution for Iraq, it will be a temporary solution for the USA only), I do not see any solution for Iraq under the current circumstances. And how many people gonna die in that shit.
When mission is organized not very clever, it is very hard to accomplish with it. Incompleted mission is a foundation for a new war in future, just like in Afghanistan, where some districts of country are under talib's control, though it was a large fight with them some time ago.
