I will flat out say that this is one of the most enjoyable FPS games I have ever played among shooting games I've played for either the console or PC. I'm someone who generally enjoys playing FPS games with a mouse and keyboard, and I used to play CS competitively. This deterred me from purchasing shooting games on consoles, but since I purchased a PS3 recently, I decided to give resistance a try.
Graphics: The game runs on 1080P with a smooth 60fps. The textures and lighting are top notch.
Gameplay: There are admittedly, some halo clone weapons, however there are some inventive new ones as well as creatively made old weapons. The gameplay is smooth, as expected for a shooting game, although the story line is linear.
The ******* AI is what impressed me the most. Unlike other games when you are in a certain vicinity of a *******, it's artificial intelligence in Resistance makes for a more realistic game; there are many huge battles in the game, and when you show up near a bunch of monsters, they do not ALL suddenly start attacking you as if they were programmed only to **** you. If you are not their primary target firsthand, they will have no choice but to still deal with your allies just as much as you. This part is somewhat confusing, but I hope you guys get a certain understand that the ai has more human features than most shooting games.
Storyline: Interesting story, it reminds me of a Halo game blended with Call of Duty, being that it takes place in a world similar to ours, but with an alternate future, in that instead of world wars, the humans band toghether to go against a a common ***** enemy.
Summary: While nothing makes this game REVOLUTIONARY, the gameplay, storyline, and definitely the graphics make it a RECOMMENDED purchase for any PS3 owners.
