Are these cars stopped in the market?

While watching Arnold 1985 film "Commando", really impressed with the previous generation cars mfd by Ford/Mercedez..

What happened to these cars now a days? can't we get them back on the roads? :crying: I always see Hyundai/Toyota brands on my way to office (I-95)

ban-one

Works for panties
Some are/have been scrapped, some are lovingly rebuilt by dedicated owners, and some are hot-rodded. And some like that Porsche are probably worth more now in whatever condition it's in than it was back then

old cars are better, these new ones are useless plastic shit filled with computers. yeah those can still be found, that mercedes is the old s class, and there are some in my town.

I always loved a 1968 opel rekord coupe with a massive V6 in it supercharged and covered front lights, and side exhausts.

Opel! I am a fan of those great cars (At least in their golden ages during the seventies, into the eighties)

My fave model is the old "Opel Diplomat"

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
As far as cars are concerned, I think of the 80's as the time when we finally began coming out of the dark wilderness of the smog-restricted 70's. But the new for 1984 Corvette, with a 5.7 liter V8, put out roughly 205 horsepower... which is less than a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder WRX put out in 2004 (227). The 1985 3.0 liter V8 Ferrari 308 GTS put out about 230hp - so about the same as the 4 cylinder WRX produced twenty years later. But with that said, even though most of them don't fare well against modern cars horsepower or handling wise, I smile like a mad man when I see certain cars from the 80's: Jaguar XJS and XJ6, Porsche 911, 928 and 944, as well as most any Ferrari from that era (my favorite Ferraris).

Cars now are MUCH more reliable and efficient than the ones from the Go-Go 80's. Yep, they're now more complicated to work on. But with electronics, you can do some wild, wild things with relatively small, turbo engines. But since the 80's were so good to me and I liked that era so much, 80's cars still hold a special place in my heart. Styling wise, the cars from the 60's, like what Red XXX has, had probably the most beautiful styling in automotive history.

the opel diplomat is a gorgeous car, sadly no 2 doors were made. GM did some gorgeous designs back in teh 60's and 70's thru opel in europe
