Are there countries that love their government?

I`m German and I like my government, even though we often moan and complain about our government, I think we like the way it goes. I don´t believe you can love your government, because there are always decision unpopular and unbearing to some people, never the less I´m happy to life in Germany. When you turn on the TV, there are some regions far more worse to live in.

When I take a close at all the other styles of government Germany witnessed in the last 200 years, I`m very glad I life in the here and now!

Just wondering because here in America everyone seems to fight over it.

Is this normal around the world?

Some would call it Democracy. I suspect, unanimously speaking, the answer is No. Impossible.

Nice thread

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
As an American, I think you might be, confusing Government, for Politicians. Many people do, and I myself get over zealous sometimes, and forget there is a difference. I firmly believe Americas system of Government, is the greatest in the world, mostly because of the Constitution, unfortunately, the lying, cheating, filthy bastards that run it, are not. We call them, politicians.

Isn't there some country in the middle east where the populace gets a big share of the oil profits and has most everything paid for, including housing I believe? I read a story a long time ago in a magazine. They would have to love their government.

I don't think anyone should love their government.

One should be critical at all times. After all no government is perfect and these flaws should always be the area of focus. Outright adoration of ones "leaders" historically never leads to anything of merit, infact it usually leads to trouble. Indeed you can praise the government if they do well in a certain area but no government will ever be able to fix everything and thus will never be perfect.

I think it's the U.A.E

How could I love my government? They promised to lower taxes before they were elected, and ended up raising them instead! Since this crisis began, they can't fill up the budget with existing taxes because the gdp isn't as large as it was expected, so they invented new taxes to fill the gap in the budget! Why don't they just reduce the budget, you ask? Because reducing the budget would mean reducing social expenditures and pensions for all the people who either don't want to work and are unemployed or went to retirement early.. so insted of cutting their pensions and other gifts from the state, they once again raided the pockets of honest, hard-working people, which are, sadly, a huge minority in my country! Does that happen anywhere else in the world?

The one and only.
but I think people in North Korea love their government most strongly:cool:

Then again, if you live North Korea and don't like your government, you could be shot. I'm not sure if that has an effect or not, but I would assume it does.

Australia has been well governed federally for at least two decades by governments both left and right. Ideology comes second to making good decisions. State governments vary and come and go accordingly. Economically we avoided the world recession without a single quarter of negative growth. Corruption is rare and the country is up at the rich end of the OECD.

^Income has been steady also I think due to shortage of labor in many industries (IT, nursing, teaching).
