Are The British Weather Wussies?

So the BBC is issuing warnings about high temperatures, and how to stay cool. They report a high of 32C, being American I had to google this, it is 89F. That's a cool day for July thru August where I live.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Since the average high is around 75 degrees F, and current humidity levels are about 70%, and London is significantly farther north than New York City, I would say the BBC, one of the most trusted voices in news, has a pretty good grasp on things.

I guess it is what you are used to, here 90's are typical with humidity above 80%. It just seems strange to see warnings for temps in the 80's, especially since our warnings don't start till triple digits.

Watching Southerners react to the cold is even funnier than the So-Cal people. I still laugh at half an inch of ice stopping the entire state of Georgia for two days.

everyone can cope best with the normal temperatures where they live and don't forget that in northern and middle europe we don't have air conditioners at home, I want to see you people in Vegas in a loft without air condition ;)

I don't know about Vegas, but I didn't have AC till I was 19. As I said above, temps were usually 90's with a few days of triple digits. We farmed so we were up and out the door by 5:00, and tried to have all the under the sun work done by 11:00. From 11:00 till 18:00 we tried to work in the shade, after that we finished anything that was directly under the sun.

Sleeping in that weather was an absolute bitch, you just lay in bed sweating till you passed out. Britain has some of the most mild climate on earth, so I'm gonna stick with weather wusses :)

Please don't take anything that the BBC or most of our national Newspapers say to seriously - our media goes into panic mode over every little thing.

you're probably right, during the last few days we had over 90F in germany too and our media doens't whine about it, but it's as you said sleeping without AC is catastrophic :suicide:
