The apparent disparity in attractiveness in favor of pornstars of European origin seems to be a combination of factors.

1. Cultural views of sex and nudity - European cultures tend to be more liberal, i.e open-minded in this regard, paving the way for a greater percentage of women from these societies, who possess world-class looks, to enter into porn.

2. Partiality toward certain gene pools/genetic traits - I can attest to this one personally in the course of viewing porn over the years. Although there have been a ton of attractive women to have done porn, representing virtually every known ethnicity, in my experience I have found there is a particular gene pool/region of the world that has consistently contributed a disproportionate number of porn stars that one might be more inclined to regard as "jaw-droppingly gorgeous" or "stunning". This elite group of babes tend to be of Hungarian, Slovakian, or Czech origin and in my view, are largely responsible for the disparity in attractiveness between American and European porn stars. The physical traits indicative of women from this region of the world apparently speak louder to the libido of the average man, compared to female porn stars in general.

3. Sexier - The Euro gals come off to me as more mature (less giggly). Perhaps they're older in general than the all-too-common 18 year-old American girls.

I think poor economic conditions, especially in eastern Europe, make a career in porn more of a financial choice for a greater pool of women from that area. I don't know if there are more beautiful women in Eastern Europe but their options are more limited so it is likely more would be drawn into the adult industry. The label of "European" (Euro) or "American" is applied based upon where a porn star was born and raised, which would account for both genetic and cultural factors.

My guess is, you're onto something right there.

As far as "better looking", since looks are subjective, it depends on what a person likes. I tend to prefer Latinas and more exotic looking women, but sure, there are some pretty girls from Eastern Europe.

But I still think back to a guy who graduated ahead of me in school. He moved to Venezuela to work for some corporation. And the last thing we heard from him (in his letter he included a picture of himself surrounded by some Venezuelan bombshells on a beach), he said he was never coming back to the U.S. I still wonder what ever happened to him, considering how shitty it is there now. He's probably back here now... living in Miami... in a house on the beach... with the daughters of the girls he was on that beach with back in the 80's. Exactly, all Americans are either mutts or of another ethnic background. None of us are purely from America, our ancestors are from other countries, since it was the Indians who were here to begin with until it was founded by Christopher C., or according to other sources, people of other backgrounds traveled here long before he did. And there are still people of hundreds of other cultural descent that are moving here. Anyway, my point is that all Americans are of countless different ethnic groups, we're all mixed or immigrated from another country, whether directly or historically, so... many Americans are in fact European or another nationality. Therefore, comparing the two is kind of... silly.

The main differences are our personalities, behaviors, and styles. Nothing to do with appearance, unless you're factoring in plastic surgery and excessive makeup, which Americans are fairly known for, but many of us are all natural. Like me. I'm from America, was born and raised here, have no plastic surgery, but my background is all European, mainly Czech with some French, German, and others mixed in.

Actually a very small percentage in both Europe and North America. And by venture into porn, I'm thinking of those who make a career of it... not Pam Anderson, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian or the many others who make their own home made porn.

Once again, like any business, it comes down to economics. Supply and demand. Countries with low GNP per capita offer little opportunity for prosperity and that makes a porn career more of an option for a young woman. I think that is why there seems to be a seemingly endless flow of eastern European women that come and go quickly in adult entertainment. I dare say that even among American porn stars you will find more lower income backgrounds amongst models who make a career of porn. Of course there are exceptions but for the most part the need for cash is what powers the porn industry and drives models into it.

To answer your question, less than one thousandth of 1% of the population of either country ventures into porn. You can get more specific with narrower demographics, but that should give you a good idea.
