It was an interesting case, with a totally innocent victim.
basically 2 people had 2 giant killer dogs in their apartment building, they killed a woman,'
but there was alot more to the case than just that.
the dog owners complete indifference for one.
Just curious what you all might think is a proper punishment if any for the dog owners in this case.

Yes I remember it. It was horrific. What a terrifying and painful way to die.

Any dog owner is totally responsible for the actions of their pet. Should their lack of responsibility result in an attack on anyone, they should be held accountable with a jail sentence that is commensurate with the injury and trauma perpetrated on the victim. Should the attack prove fatal, I see nothing wrong with a very long sentence being imposed as a means of sending a clear message that these types of incidents will not be tolerated.

Likewise, I think stringent preventative measures should be mandated that would prevent apartment dwellers from being able to own potentially dangerous animals like these 2 dogs were. People should not have to live in fear that someone's pet might maul them and possibly kill them....it's ridiculous. Quite obviously, leash laws are not sufficient if the pet owner can be overwhelmed by the dog.

I can tell you from personal experience however that most communities have no regulation for this and literally nothing can be done until or unless the dog(s) in question actually attack someone. These laws should change. If I were threatening my neighbor, I could be arrested. A dog has to actually hurt someone before any action can be taken by law enforcement. Unbelievable.

Yes. I was visiting friends in San Francisco when it happened. It was later a thinly veiled episode of "Law & Order".

That breed was almost extinct, and brought back from the brink. They are a VERY hard breed to control, and work with...others have been killed by them. As far as the 2 assclowns that were taking care of the dogs, and went to prison for the woman's death, they should have been charged with murder, and should never see freedom again. I do know they went to prison, I don't remember for how long, but it wasn't enough. If you accidentally shoot someone, or you accidentally let your killer dogs out...no difference to me. Obviously the dogs should have been put down, as I believe they were.
