Metal Detecting. Or, what is sometimes called "Coin Shooting".
I have been metal detecting since 1997. During that time I've discovered a lot of coins, mostly quarters, nickles, etc. But, I have also found quite a few silver coins, including trinkets, jewelry, a pocket watch, old locks, keys, etc. A friend and I went to an old town that is still relatively small and I found an 1847 Large Cent.
I have a Whites, MXT E-Series Metal Detector. When I first started this hobby, my first metal detector was a Radio Shack model, and it cost $119.
