Any suggestions for a Costa Rica vacation?

I have never really traveled anywhere outside of the US and have recently been looking into going to Costa Rica. I have absolutely no idea about what area(s) I should visit. Has anyone visited there and could offer up some suggestions? Money is not an issue and I would prefer to stay in some sort of resort rather than an average hotel. Even a tour package would be a plus. Anyway if anyone could offer some input I would greatly appreciate it!

So I think your looking for an honest answer.

I was in CR last summer and it was absolutely incredible. Granted it is an area with...low income... but it is a blast.

I went with two friends and we just went crazy for 5 days. If your looking for stuff to do, I would suggest rafting on Pacuare River, if your up for it. It was pretty intense, but you never felt like death was imminent.

Second I would say the Canopy Tours are a must, as long as heights don't freak you out. The ladders getting into the canopy are bit iffy, but the zip lines are fucking sick!

We rented an apartment right on the beach for almost nothing, $750 U.S. for the week, which broke down to about 35 bucks a day to stay on the water in a really nice place.

Where exactly are you planning on going in Costa? Get back to me and I can suggest a few places.

Awesome, thank you for the suggestions! I don't really have a specific part of CR in mind as I haven't looked too much into it yet. I just want to go somewhere really nice that has plenty of stuff to do (the zip lines, rafting, etc). I was looking into some of those 7 day tours, but it seems they take you to stay at different places. I think I would like to stay in one place that is kind of central to all of the activities.

Looking for something with a spa in the room or on the balcony, something really relaxing to spend a week in. The Four Seasons kinda caught my eye but I know nothing about which parts of CR are the best to visit. Any additional information that you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

My sister went there and really loved it, so did another buddy of mine, but they went on a trip with groups... trips where you work with locals and help by working on projects such as building schools, hospitals, etc.etc... they got to explore the rainforest and brought back lots of wonderful photos.

I imagine your trip would be more centered around leisure! good luck, I'm sure you will find lots of beautiful things there!

I continue to hear great things about CR. I am definitely looking for a leisure filled trip. Thanks for the good wishes.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
I've never been to Costa Rica but I've eaten traditional Costa Rican cuisine and it's pretty good. While you're there, I would recommend the following...

Higado en salsa - beef liver salsa
Papas con chorizo - potatoes with chorizo sausage
Plantanos asados - baked plantains
Picadillo de papaya verde - minced green papaya

you fucking call me an idiot?

No, I'm calling your idiotic MOTHER an idiot-sucking idiotface, ya idiotheaded idiot!! Ahehheh.. I thought Andy Kaufman is dead. This is definitely a Kaufman persona. The antagonizing one.

On-topic: I'd like to see many places.. but I also want to know how to speak the local language before going. Soo.. that doesnt leave me every option that involves wildlife, the ocean (warm weather oceanside types) or exotic ladies. Exotic, cheap.. busty prostitute ladies.

Ahem, not like the ones in Hostel, tho.
