I don't know. If a device can be inserted, it can be removed too. The rapist will become more cautious, when they know, the devise is available. It won't prevent rape as such.
There are a lot of debate on the issue of rape. It has a socio-psychological background. And frankly its not the male who is the sole rapists of the world. Cases are there, where a female has raped a male.

It can be abused (it's gonna happen), quite possibly it can simply be removed by the rapist, and while it could certainly prevent some women from being raped (beyond initial insertion), I'm not sure doing something like that to someone who has the mental and physical capability to rape you is a good idea. You Might end up dead instead.

actually, yea....china has a lot of rape incidents...taht whole area, including india is just crazy with child rape...its on the rise....maybe something like will help
I don't think people use common sense when they come up with products anymore. If people don't like or can't carry around a knife, gun, or pepper spray, even something as simple as gouging the eyes of your attacker with your fingers until they bottom out in the socket would be more effective than this. It would also give you more time to escape or do what you want while the person is not only in pain, but most like incapacitated. Why find some drawn out roundabout way to do something when there is a simpler, cheaper, faster, and more sensible answer.

The real problem is blood. There would be alot of it coming from a sliced up penis and how would the victim be protected from STDs and other disease within the rapist's bloodstream?
