Another legand passes on.

This has been a horrid past few months for the world of music....and it doesn't look like it's going to get better anytime soon.

The great Kieth Emerson is gone at 71 years old. His death is being investigated as a suicide. Something that actually shocks me, more then I guess it should. Maybe because I'm such a huge fan, and have loved their music for so long.

And my all time favorite song from this great band......

I was not a huge ELP fan at first but I actually got to see them live as a kid.

One of the first bands to do the orchestra thing and was the show I saw.
Glad I experienced that. The funny thing was, I wasn't that excited about going at the time.

Palmer and Rick Wakeman were the premier keyboardists of that era.

RIP.

And if I'm not mistaken, Kieth was the first person to play a synthesizer live. I know Greg Lake wrote the song "Lucky Man", when he was 15 years old.

He was the quiet one in the band. ELP has been accused of ripping off Van Der Graaf Generator. But ELP had their own sound. Emerson had extensive classical training. He was a definite talent. He will be missed.

At some point TheWhiteDevil will pass on. He is not a legend in any shape or form. Just a turd.

He could be a legendary turd.

Fixed. Where's Gary Brooker?

Where's Nicky Hopkins? Nicky was probably the best session player for piano, and organ. Consider him as -- the "Jimmy Page" for Piano -- from Cyril Davies and his Allstars, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, the Kinks, the Jerry Garcia Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Jefferson Airplane and the Steve Miller Band.

Then you have Elton John and Leon Russell too. :)

Maybe. Though you need to check Todd Rundgren and the Nazz. If Keith Emerson did play synthesizer it wasn't with E.L.P but with the Nice. :)

You're not even worth reciprocating, but I will see your 'idiot' comment and raise you for 'you're a Douche'. (that's with a capital D)

I was speaking more of notoriety in the progressive genre but your point is well taken.

Billy Preston would be in the list too.
