Amsterdam vacation info needed please and TY

I wish I could go :( I know several members here are from that area and was wondering if you have heard of Estherea Hotel? How would you rate it 1-5? What are some must-see spots? Historical and Pot Cafes included. Asking for a family member(s) that will be there in August. Thanks

I'm somewhat disappointed that there arent more replies. You got me curious with this (oddly descriptive) request. :)

It's a great place and the hotel location is grand. The City centre is Amsterdam isn't huge and you can go from 1 end to another in no time by team. Best but of advice re: coffee shops, there's one for every taste, don't let the exterior of a place put you off, go on in, if you don't like it you can leave. I recommend The Green Place. Check it out.

Thanks people, I'll relay the info.

I know nothing about the hotel but it looks like its in a pretty central location.

Personally, I don't like going into Amsterdam. There's too many tourists (this is actually become a big thing, Amsterdam is trying to get tourists to go to other places in the country). I think most people can see and do everything that's worthwhile to do in about 3 days. The big museums like the Rijks, Van Gogh, and Rembrandthuis. Artis zoo. Some coffee shops (I know a place that makes space cakes that are home made and probably the best in the city).

If you're coming between March 21st and May 10th I do highly recommend getting out of the city and go to the Keukenhof gardens (the famous gardens with all the tulips). If you go during the week it's usually a little less crowded and there's buses going from Amsterdam directly to the Keukenhof.

April 27th you'll have Kings Day which is an interesting day to be in the city. All public transport shuts down and you're pretty much squashed between the drunk and high masses in orange.

If you like escape rooms, the city is infested with them now.

Also, consider this. I think it's a pretty good deal if you're planning on utilizing public transport and going to a bunch of museums. https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/i-am/i-amsterdam-city-card
