American Values Are Disappearing with the Greatest Generation

We heard this same basic diatribe about the leftist element of the baby boomers. Supposedly hippies, pot smokers and those who questioned authority were going to undermine and destroy all our WWII vets had sacrificed for. Of course that didn't turn out to be the case at all, but this theme remains a standard go-to right wing boogeyman, recycled for each subsequent generation.
It’s a pattern with you that everything that is right before your eyes is a conspiracy theory or fairytale.
The counter culture made their way into the universities and the media and the result of their 50 plus years of indoctrination is bearing fruit. 75 percent of today’s college students identify as socialists and we are imagining shit.

On yes? The fact that you like a beyond more than shitty candidate like Occasio Cortez and her dumb anti american values tells a lot about you. The fact that the 9th circuit court of appeals based in Commiefornia which is typically liberal rules against Trump’s asylum ban for Illegal Immigrants is a sign of how liberals think. With liberals it is the prefer the foreigner to your own people

You don't know what is sacrifice nor merit and probably you never will. See how much european countries have gone down thanks to socialism. You want people to pay for others, when it is a system that has failed in Russia, China, Venezuela and in many other countries.

Lol What a silly post.

First of all, I only like Cortez for her appearance :boobies: She's too much of an airhead to be my representative, although once again, based on Trump becoming president, being an airhead apparently isn't a disqualifying factor for republicans.

Next, the 9th circuit court wasn't the only one to rule against the travel ban. The 4th circuit court did as well.

Next, I'm an avid capitalist. Always have been, and have become well to do as a result. I don't believe in unregulated capitalism, but obviously that's not the same thing as being a socialist. I don't mind having some of my money trickle down to socially constructive causes and less fortunate souls. Yes, some are unworthy advantage takers, but I'm not going to let the bad apples sour me on the general principle.

Lastly, who the hell are you to tell me I don't know what sacrifice or merit is? I did volunteer work at VA hospitals for years, asshole. Let us know when you've done the same, m'kay?

Well spoken, pool_hustler.

georges, and many who believe like him have a totally distorted perception of what it means to be, "librul" to the vast majority of liberals.

And I'm not sandbagging Ms. Cortez, she might be inexperienced and not as well educated as she would probably like to be, but she doesn't have shit patently wrong like the vast majority of her political opponents.

Insurance premiums and deductibles have tripled. Open borders are driving down wages for many families and higher taxes eating away at take home pay. Conservatives know exactly what it means to be a liberal. They are affected by their dumb fuck policies.

You don't get to define others with what's convenient for you. Take all that wrong lying shit you just posted, and stick it back where it came from.

This ain't the '60 anymore. Deal with, go froward 'cause even if you try, even if you push the most conservative policies you could think of, the '60 won't come back.

The thing aboutthe "Greatest Generation" is that it was a very progressive, very pro-science generation. progressivism and science are values that today's conservatives reject

I'm not sure that one can speak of any generation in such a uniform way. I mean, how would you measure that? I think a lot of it is based on our perceptions, right? We highlight the things that we like or admire and we overlook the things that we don't. I think we all see what we want to see. I choose to look at my mom's generation (the Greatest Generation) and see hard working, determined, no nonsense people who just got it done. I see it that way, while ignoring the older people I met in my youth who were anything but that. And there are times when I choose to hammer millennials as being whiny, over-grown babies, who need participation ribbons and demand things because they all think that they deserve a free ride (which they want other people to pay for). I tend to do that when I encounter one or more of these powdered butt types who melt into a screaming fit at the slightest indiscretion. But in all fairness, they're not all that way. And I should not lump them all into the same category. There are a lot of younger people who are get it done types too - no different from the so-called Greatest Generation. How many? What's the split? :dunno:

From generation to generation, the world has always been in a state of change. Is it getting better or worse? I don't know - depends on where you're standing as to whether or not the rain is falling on your head, I guess. Even though I've been tasked as a "change agent" for a good part of my working life, even I'm not totally keen on many of the changes that are going on in our society these days. I've never believed in change just for the sake of change. IMO, if you change something, there should be a net positive effect. But woulda/coulda/shoulda doesn't really matter, does it? My only realistic hope for the future is that we at some point soon return to a time when people can at least discuss serious issues without totally demonizing people who have a differing opinion. But even that seems to be a pipe dream these days. So all I can do is take care of me and mine and wish others the best.

So what do I know? Well, I know that it's 81 degrees in Belize today. :)

Trump is the perfect representative of far right Christian conservative values; dumb, immoral, and criminal. Anyone besides Hillary would have obliterated him in 2016. He won't be eligible to run for reelection, so pondering who will beat him is trivial. A better question is, how much prison time will Trump serve and who will the republicans run in 2020, assuming they're not too ashamed to sit it out.

Yes because Liberals preferring illegals, criminals, radical islamists, unwilling to work, free healthcare , free social security and social housing leech offs is a sign of how great they are:rolleyes:. Let's not forget that liberals are against the 2 nd amendment, death penalty, hate the military but are for sanctuary cities. Yes the liberals prefers illegals and criminals to vets. Find me someone who made the economy like Trump did and not some goddman lousy Obama muppet , perhaps there will be a debate.

Don't tell me about sillyness , you like Occasio Cortez and that says a lot. You don't know what is capitalism, it is bust your ass and make money for your own. Would you have been an avid capitalist, you wouldn't live in Commiefornia, one of the worst and most leftist state to live in but you would live in Texas. When I hear the word social is, it automatically has the meaning of socialism. Do you have given money to the VA hospitals where you supposedly volunteer? Most of my money is spent for my taxes, my usual expenses, leisure and building my 401k and the extra money sometimes is given to homeless associations
