It's about damn time another college football team in Ohio gets to be in the limelight! I've gotten tired of going to all the sports clothing stores (even those in Cincinnati) and seeing nothing but Ohio State jerseys and memorbilia. MOVE OVER BRUTUS! IT'S THE BEARCATS TIME TO REIGN!!!

Me thinks thee suffers from inferioritis. Keep your eye on the prize Bearcat, OSU is not your opponent again until 2012. Coach Kelly will be looooooooong gone by then. He’ll be moving to a top 20 program after this year.

6-0 is a great start for the first time since you’ve been in a major conference. The Ohio State University has started 6-0 Four times in the last 8 years.

Talk to me when you:
• win 7 National Championships
• win 7 Heisman Trophies
• Sell 105,000 Tickets per game (instead of 25k)
• have 70 first round draft picks (UC-0)
• Win 5 Lombardi awards, 4 Maxwell awards, 4 Outland Trophies and 3 Walter Camp awards. (Cincinnati - 0)
• Have 174 All Americans (currently UC has 3)

Yea, I may have inferioritis, but look at it from my point of view. I'm just tried of the fact that everywhere I go, all I hear about it OSU. I can't even buy a UC hat at the mall next to where I live! When I listened to the radio this weekend, I can't even hear about the UC game, because everyone is bitching about how OSU got their asses kicked! Hell, some people even wear OSU clothes to our games! I'm just happy my boys finally got some recognition, that's all.

I am neither a Bearcat or Buckeye fan. I have had to deal with (T)OSU fans for years and, while acknowledging their successes, wish nothing but failure for them. A good portion of the fans didn't go to (T)OSU, can't spell (T)OSU, but are obnoxious assholes when (T)OSU wins.

Yea, we have some of our hardest games coming up, but we'd still have to mess up pretty bad to get shot down too much in the rankings.

I remember drinking in Arlins in Clifton, the time the Bearcats ran them close. It was a great atmosphere. Wish it was on for this year.

I heard that Coach Kelly is on record as saying the one job he will not turn down is Notre Dame and there is a clause to that effect in his contract.

Having said that if he changes the recruiting dynamic from highschools in Cincinnati in strongly in favour of UC then his impact will last for a long time to come. Pound for pound Cincinnati highschool football is as good as anywhere in the country. A programme that gets first dibs on that talent will do OK.

Wow! I didn’t think it would happen this quick but it did. I was talking to some of my friends from the ‘nati about how on blogs and message boards, all I see out of Bearcat fan is “we are better than Ohio State blah, blah, blah, ha, ha ha.”

I was telling them that in the BCS day in age, when your rankings depends on voters who may or may not see all the games, you need to be arguing about how good UC is and not that OSU is having a disappointing year. Voters are greatly influenced by conventional wisdom.

Bearcat fan should have spent the last 10 days talking up the program on message boards, blogs etc compared to Iowa, TCU, Boise St, USC and the like. But instead they spent all week proclaiming them to be the “best team in Ohio.”

And guess what? Cincinnati dropped 3 spots in the BCS standings this week. Nice job Bearcat fan! Way to keep your eye on the prize.

I would classify USC fans as the Yankee fans for the NCAA. They are continually good for things that happen in their favor off the playing field that gives them an advantage and seem to have a sense of entitlement. :1orglaugh (This also works for any major team from the state of Florida as it applies to them to.)

Notre Dame fans would be the Raider fans of the NCAA, not very smart, delusional, not able to admit when they aren’t good, and living in the past.

Ohio State needs to resemble teams for fans that think their teams is always better than what it is and often looses to legitimate competition in big games,...which actually now that I think about it kind of does fit the Cowboys of recent years.

I was at a party in Clifton (where the University of Cincinnati is located) on Saturday night and all the talk was centered around the school not getting carried away with the upsurge in crowds and pushing for a bigger capacity stadium that will then be empty in again in two years time. In a city that is home to the eternal B feature Bengals the populous doesn't necessarily have visions of permanent good times.

So I would say that, the Bearcat crowd are not acting like they have been there before because they are really wary about the fact that they won't be there again.
