I don't see it happening for one very simple reason. Many of todays young adults need porn. They don't want serious involvement, or commitment, so until they find a steady fuck buddy, they need to jerk off. They need their porn. I also want to point out that this is coming from Mormon land, and while other conservatives might get on the band wagon, I can't see it being banned nation wide. Maybe states like Utah, which still is unacceptable, but I think it would come down to local level bullshit, at worst. Porn is, or was, a 7 to 13 billion dollar a year industry, I don't see it going away.

Having said that, I will say it's wrong for this guy to feel he has the right to play morality judge for everyone, and the only changes I would accept, as valid, if they haven't done it yet, is make it illegal for adult advertisements, or pop ups appearing anywhere other then adult sites, so little kids can't get hit with an ad for hot anal sluts, while looking for information to write a report on something unrelated.

Nattering Nabob of Negativism
Banning access to certain websites sounds like something the Chinese government would promulgate. Oh wait … they already do. Certain Republicans are sounding more and more like their stated adversaries: Communists.

What would the sex workers do for a living? How many people would lose their jobs? Unemployment would certainly increase in select areas.

How would you define porn? An argument could made that certain R-rated theatrical movies qualify as porn.

Ted Cruz may not like it either:

The thing that bothers me the most about ANY type of thing that falls under individual choice is, it's not hard to avoid it, all you have to do is NOT type in something dirty, or click on links that take you there. Just like you don't have to ask the clerk for the Hustler mag behind the counter, You don't have to stroll into Mickey Finns (real titty bar in Cleveland). It isn't hard to block the content in your home, but yet they all (this type of zealot) feels a need to protect people, that may not need, or want it. I'm not a parent, but I know I wouldn't want my kid on a site like this, until he was "at that age", so as his parent it's my job to stop, or correct that behavior, not his. I also know, I would rather, IF I had to make the choice, that someone at an impressionable age be exposed to sexual situations, then violence and mayhem. I would rather my kid see a pair of tits, or an ass, over a gun shot to the head, or a stabbing.

In this special time of year we pray, in Jesus name, that pornography shall be outlawed in every corner of every county of our great country. Thank you Senator Mike Lee for leading this crusade. We will get those gals back on the corner in no time.

For years we heard about GOP wanting to repeal Roe vs Wade
For years we laughed at this, certain that it would never happen
It happened
