I'm kinda torn on the issue as in an ideal world we wouldn't want cameras everywhere spying on us and they don't particularly deter criminals (policing should be better) but if someone commits a crime and the only way to convict them is through CCTV footage then I see no harm. There is an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour (general degradation of society) especially in public places or businesses (robbery) and CCTV can capture the offenders in the act, sometimes there are no human witnesses or witnesses that feel too intimidated to testify.
