It was around 22 years ago when I discovered Barely Legal magazine, well its Spanish version known as Edad Legal. I was almost 18, and the magazine shop clerk just asked me my age and without problem, sold it to me. I thought that #17 featured girls as in Playboy, fortunatly, I was wrong and I found out a lot of beauty young teens who could be my college friends. I bought some issues and through the years, I cut pictures out, keeping best girls filed.
Some months ago, I decided to search all these magazines in PDF format, but it is imposible. No one really care to scan them, and only one Internet page offers them from different sellers, but the shipping costs could be high. So i sterted to organize covers and compare them with American issues. I would like to show some aspects that are funny.
Edad Legal was an erotic magazine edited by S. Books S.L. It was released in July 1995, almost two years after American first issue. This magazine reached until number 191 (around the beginning of 2012). I haven´t found any data about more releases so far, probably descontinued and out of stock.
The contents varied from the original version; for example, less models were shown and some had their names changed, stories were poorly translated (embarrassed was translated as pregnant) and different covers. Besides Edad Legal, others were released as Edad Legal Extra that showed the girls who were taken out from other magazines; Mi Album Edad Legal, containing two issues, and Edad Legal Hard, that was another way to name the magazine.
In 2007, the same publisher released Jovencitas (Youngers) Vecinas (Neighbours) and Virgenes (Virgins). Those magazines had the same pics than Barely Legal, so the photos of a single American magazine, were sold separetely.
Price:
1 to 8 issue: 475 pesetas
8 - 67: 500 pesetas or 3,01 €
188 - 191: 4,95€
Another Spanish version is Chicas 18, licensed by Tight Magazine and released by Zinco. Also, was different from American issues. It was published from 2001 to 2011. I do not know why all these teens magazines were out of circulation.
Currently, I have found:
Edad Legal: 184 covers of 191.
Jovencitas: 19 of 20.
Vecinas: 25 of 35.
Virgenes: 23 of 40.
Chicas 18: 107 of 117.
