A retrospective: Danni's Hard Drive

When I first visited Danni's HotBox in the summer of 1996, I was blown away. So many beautiful pictures of naked women to download to my computer. What make the site unique was the monthly e-magazines, like Score and Voluptuous magazine. The commentaries were very good. Especially the ones written by Dakota Kelly. I felt the best of Danni's HotBox was in 1997 to 1999. Ever since Danni Ashe sold her company to Penthouse Magazine, it became just another website. Although no hardcore content, I like the fact the the site had a lot to offer under Danni's ownership.

Do you remember when Danni's HotBox was to site to go to visit? Is anyone still a member? If so, how would you rate the quality of the site, compared to how it was from 1996 to 2000?

I remember the site. It was pretty much the only one I visited other than Score.
I think I even joined it. It was like an amusement park for men. It was freaking awesome.

The website picture galleries and videos have been ripped. Not by ex-members stealing content but by Penthouse themselves.

They've been doing that for years. Close to a decade. It's a shell of its former self. Kelly Madison and Vicky Vette were monthly Danni Girls. If you try to find an old video or old photo gallery, Ryan Conner (pre-tat) or Kim Chambers or Plenty UpTopp, for example. They are long gone.

Thanks for the comments. It's true that Penthouse has turned Danni's hard drive into a shell. I wonder how the site would be today if Danni was still the owner? She had a very good support staff. Perhaps they could have evolved the site in the same manner as the Score Group have done, except the hardcore route. I miss the old HotBox.

I actually remember it back then. My internet was so slow I could load up a picture and practically go make a sandwich before it finished. Video, you might as well forget about it at those speeds. Like a old video game that didn't age well watching video from a porn site that came out then is painful now, even stuff with good content. Searching for stuff wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do back then either. Good forums for this stuff weren't really around yet.

Still, Danni's was one of the best places back when it first came about. It had good models, above average to great photography, and collected them into one place. That was a lot more than could be said for a lot of other places back then.

AL4A is still around. In 1999, Big Breast Lovers.com website as well as Marks Bookmarxx.com were fun places to visit. But Danni's HotBox was the place to be.

Hah, if I had 14.99$ on a parent's credit card for every time I got a free month off those AOL disks..
and then AOL stopped handing out so many and I got tired of gypping them out of a month. (Oh, how easy, though.. and how impatient was I..)
Tried that Juno free internet with the adbar up top for awhile. Between the ad reloads every 5 minutes, the 28.8 connection and streaming netradio.com, there was naught left over for link-o-rama.com, or most TGP sites.

Personally I was fond of ALS-scan, CD-girls, and those non-random camgirls of the time. Good lord, what were their names...

And mebbe some liveteen.com, Kobetai-mystry, vivid.com started in 96 I think,
domai, 18eighteen, and the first imagesharing sites that mimicked amIhotORnot, those werent bad.

I still have the original free Juno internet and email for a time. I used to use it a lot from 1997 until 2009 when my computer HDD was full. The dial ups were a killer. Especially when it came to the mp3 files. Back then, computer viruses hide themselves among those porn sites.
