This crazy old Jewish man from Vermont who is a self-identified Democratic Socialist, is beating every republican candidate in the polls by a big margin and challenging Hillary for the lead on the left, is a very telling situation of the way America has changed.
Think about what the label "Socialist" meant just a few years ago. The way it was vilified in the media. The way people's noses wrinkled when they said it. Now there's an actual socialist selling out huge venues running for president. Someone who says they will take on wall street and actually means it. Someone who will raise wages and tax the wealthy and corporations, and actually means it. Someone who will make medicare for everyone a reality and get rid of the insurance companies involved in the obamacare program.
The fact that this type of candidate is actually getting as much support as he is tells us that America sees how their tax dollars have been ****** and the exceptional treatment that businesses get at the cost of portions of their paychecks. Imagine that you actually get something you can feel from your taxes! You can go to the doctor and not pay a cent. No more medical debt. No more worrying that if you get sick you'll lose your house because you can't work.
This must be making the GOP crazy. They've lost the culture war. Abortion is legal. Obamacare is here to stay. Gay marriage is now a right. The confederate flag is coming down. ********* is legal for recreational use in 2 states with more on the way. A black man is president for fuck's sake.
Bernie is NOT the ideal candidate and probably couldn't win. But his ideas are winning and that's the real issue. People want what Europe has. The middle class in America is dead and the republicans aren't going to do **** to change that. They'll make rich people richer and let the poor dangle on a few shekels to give them just enough to survive and keep them in prison and away from the rights to vote and be a part of an actual society.
So to anyone who thinks that its going to be 1955 again I suggest they look at the Bernie craze that's happening.

Some say it was closer to $280 million and has not given one plan to accomplish anything, who was on the liberal side of nearly every issue just a few years ago including abortion and health care and is an asshole in the truest sense of the word and nothing more than a loud arrogant guy who refuses to apologize for anything he says.
The other guys is a true socialist in America running for president and getting more popular the more people know about him and his ideas. A guy who tells the truth and has integrity is running on his agenda alone. He says he'll tax people who are rich and corporations and make health care part of your american citizenship just as it is in Europe. In polls Bernie beats Donald by more than 10% which would be a landslide of crazy proportions.
I'm proud of America and the direction we're taking. I can't wait to see it in 10 years.
