I think in a lot of cases these tasers are overused. But I've watched the dashcam video and watched the interviews, where this woman lied about what she did or didn't do many times, and I think that the cop was 100% in the right. At one point, you can actually see his back foot go into the highway as he's having to deal with her foolishness. She did resist arrest. She was combative. She did use profanity. And in my view, she deserved everything she got! She's a text book case of a situation where a taser should be used. Could he have tackled her? Sure. And what would people say about a guy his size falling on her and breaking one of her brittle, old bones? This guy was in a no win situation! I think he handled himself well! She was speeding and was putting highway workers at risk with her reckless behavior. She should have just signed the ticket and BOOM!... problem over. She caused this ENTIRE situation!

Just because she's old and because she's a woman, a lot of people want there to be special rules for her. I call bullshit on that kind of thinking. It's just a shame that the county attorney pussied out and offered this old bat 40,000 taxpayer dollars!
