700,000 American jobs would be created if Trump ends DACA

A study by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s open borders organization revealed that if an Obama-created amnesty program for young illegal aliens is ended, it would open nearly 700,000 American jobs.

Zuckerberg’s FWD.us group – a pro-immigration lobbying group – released the study with the intention to show the hardships of ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, where more than 850,000 young illegal aliens have been given temporary amnesty would have on the American economy.

The study unintentionally revealed how many more job opportunities American workers would have if President Trump were to repeal DACA, as he promised his supporters he would do.

According to the FWD.us study, if DACA is repealed it would mean potentially 700,000 American jobs could open up for American citizens.

The study claims that on average, if Trump were to repeal DACA, 30,000 American job opportunities would open up each month. FWD.us President Todd Schulte touted the results of the study as a loss for America’s business community, saying it would have “severe consequences” on the economy.

I hate to sound like a Luddite, but ending incentives for offshoring jobs would be something I would vote for.

The problem with the economy is not that there aren't enough jobs. It's the opposite. For or the last 4 years or so there's been a record high of job openings. The problem though is that employers cant find workers with the right skills to fill their open positions.

Heaven forbid they invest in current or new employees to get their skill set up to the job requirements. Corporations suck ass, and this is just another example.

This is a real mess of an issue. It's one of those with no political winners, except for the losers. If DACA gets overturned, it helps the dems, giving them a campaign issue - if it stays, it helps the republicans as it shows they are sympathetic and goes against their heartless persona (especially with Latinos which is a key voting demo going forward).

Undocumented Americans pay $11.64 billion annually in state and local taxes.

Contributions range from almost $2.2 million in Montana with an estimated undocumented population of 4,000 to more than $3.1 billion in California, home to more than 3 million undocumented immigrants. Undocumented immigrants nationwide pay on average an estimated 8% of their incomes in state and local taxes (this is their effective state and local tax rate). To put this in perspective, the top 1% of taxpayers pay an average nationwide effective tax rate of just 5.4%. Allowing them to work legally would increase these state and local tax contributions by an estimated $2.1 billion a year.

Undocumented Americans pay $12 billion annually to the Social Security Trust Fund.

An estimated 7 million people are currently working in the US illegally. Of those, an estimated 3.1 million are using fake or expired social security numbers, and also paying automatic payroll taxes. They pay an estimated annual net contribution of $12 billion to the Social Security Trust Fund. The SSA estimates that unauthorized workers have paid $100 billion into the fund over the past decade.

In addition, ITINs, or Individual Tax Identification Number, are one way that undocumented immigrants can pay taxes, as anyone can apply for and receive the number. In 2010, over 3 million people paid over $870 million in income taxes using an ITIN, and ITIN filers pay $9 billion in payroll taxes annually.

DACA has to do with rule of law

Immigration advocates and protesters would have you believe this is a simple question of heart, of kindness, of the American immigration origin story. But it isn't.

At its center, the question of DACA is one of dry legality: is it legal for a president to create legislative authority out of thin air, to decide which laws to enforce and which ones to let slide, or is it not?

DACA is illegal, overbroad, and the first step toward a full amnesty.

Ending This Immigration Program Would Devastate the Economy

http://fortune.com/2017/07/21/daca-dream-act-2017-new-immigration-news/

Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced a new Dream Act in Congress Wednesday, reminding Americans that there is strong bipartisan support for Dreamers—immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children and are seeking citizenship. According to a recent Morning Consult and Politico poll, 78% of American voters support giving Dreamers the chance to stay permanently in America, including 73% of people who voted for President Donald Trump.

The Dream Act is a strong legislative solution that would allow young immigrants to continue living their American dream with a path to permanent residency and eventually citizenship. But until a long-term solution such as the Dream Act or comprehensive immigration reform is enacted, we need to continue protecting the nearly 800,000 immigrant youth currently living with Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). In doing so, they would not only protect these people’s futures, but also the very economic health of our country.

Young immigrants today are scared and confused. The president has demonized us as “rapists” and “criminals,” then celebrated us as “incredible kids” who will be “treated with heart.”
The DACA program, which allows certain undocumented youth to work legally in the U.S., and provides protection from deportation, has made these immigrants feel safer in a country they consider their home. But politicians have put their livelihoods in jeopardy by making political and legal moves to rescind the program—and Trump’s flip-flopping has given them the political cover to do so. My home state of Texas has taken the lead in this particular race to the bottom, with Attorney General Ken Paxton calling on other states to join him in demanding that the administration end the program—he has nine with him so far.

Story continues at the link. But who pays attention to a Left-wing rag like Fortune Magazine anyway? ;)

Trump has decided to end DACA, with 6-month delay
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/03/trump-dreamers-immigration-daca-immigrants-242301

President Donald Trump has decided to end the Obama-era program that grants work permits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country as children, according to two sources familiar with his thinking. Senior White House aides huddled Sunday afternoon to discuss the rollout of a decision likely to ignite a political firestorm — and fulfill one of the president’s core campaign promises.

Trump has wrestled for months with whether to do away with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, known as DACA. He has faced strong warnings from members of his own party not to scrap the program and struggled with his own misgivings about targeting minors for deportation.

Conversations with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who argued that Congress — rather than the executive branch — is responsible for writing immigration law, helped persuade the president to terminate the program, the two sources said, though White House aides caution that — as with everything in the Trump White House — nothing is set in stone until an official announcement has been made.

In a nod to reservations held by many lawmakers, the White House plans to delay the enforcement of the president’s decision for six months, giving Congress a window to act, according to one White House official. But a senior White House aide said that chief of staff John Kelly, who has been running the West Wing policy process on the issue, “thinks Congress should’ve gotten its act together a lot longer ago.”

Trump is expected to announce his decision on Tuesday, and the White House informed House Speaker Paul Ryan of the president’s decision on Sunday morning, according to a source close to the administration. Ryan had said during a radio interview on Friday that he didn’t think the president should terminate DACA, and that Congress should act on the issue.

Liberals hate the middle class more than anything. They actively work to undermine the middle-class and have been doing so for 50 years now. Duplicitous, double-dealing pompous bastards of the worst kind.

If there was an error in our Constitution one of the bigger flaws was birthright citizenship. It has been abused and pissed on so flagrantly by these alleged "contributors" (illegal aliens) for so long now it makes me wonder why we even have a government.

Liberals are the middle class. They are the upper-middle class. But hey, keep sounding like Herman Cain, because that's how you get respect around here and it worked so well for him.
