Hi all.
I went out on tuesday and bought the movie 300. Honestly, I was very disapponted. It was just another 'Braveheart' with a different twist.
I think Hollywood has lost it's edge for movie making.

I didn't like it at all. Poor acting, excessive screaming, bad dialog, too much violence wasn't necessary. I also can't stand that stupid sound man, cha ching sound with a sword stabbing someone, or when ramming a spear through the bodies to make sure they were dead. When's the last time you heard that cha ching! noise cutting a steak? They also had magic shields. Once the sharp arrowhead punches through the shield, it stops and just sticks out like a porcupine. To penetrate that, it would go clear through the body underneath.

Very disappointing film for all the good comments.

P.S. Braveheart, (the Mel Gibson formula: bad guy hurts good guy, good guy becomes strong, good guy defeats bad guy, the world is a better place), was much better. :2 cents:

I thought it was OK at best, I didn't really get the ending, but my knowledge of history is bad.

SPOILER ALERT

After 299 Spartans are killed, the lone survivor gets back to Sparta and a year later thousands of Spartans return to fight Xerxes. What the hell did Xerxes do for a year? Grow taller? Get a deeper voice?

All together now: THIS IS SPARTA!! ATTACK!! FIGHT!! FIRST MAN TO SPEAK WILL DIE, NOW SHOUT EVERY LINE OF DIALOGUE!!

Bored me. I rented it, and kept pausing it and coming back to it. I didn't even watch the last 15 minutes. I only rented it because a lot of FO's people seemed to like it. Usually that's good!

This was one of my favorite movies this year and I couldn't wait to buy it on DVD. As soon as I got home I watched it and liked it all over again.

yeah it was all blue screen. i have problems with that personally. just like all this photshopping, its just blah. i dont like it.

I haven't seen it so can't say much.But I think anything historical is worthy compared to a lot of the other stuff around,as long as they don't use to much dramatic license.

Never really had much interest in it. Still don't. Always thought from the previews it looked like it had way too much over-the-top violence that wouldn't further the story much.
