So, is Alabama the clear National Champion? They have precisely the same record as LSU - each has only one loss, and they have only lost to each other.

LSU lost in the NC, so they can't be national champions.

I still say Houston would have steamrolled those guys.

USC returns next year. Barkley wins the Heisman and a NC, gets drafted by the Seahawks and wins 21 Super Bowls.

No....they are NOT the clear National Champion. They are the BCS Champion. The NCAA does not have a championship for Division I....only II and III. Makes sense, right?

LSU was overwhelmed by the SEC defense. You may think you can compete with SEC, until you actually play an SEC team. It's just hard to simulate that kind of speed when you just don't have the talent. LSU was clearly out of their league.

The same Houston that got steamrolled by Southern Miss? No, can't be THAT Houston you speak of. Must be some other Houston you are talking about.:sarcasm:

Sarcasm. However, LSU's shit offense made Bama's defence look better than they are. And I'm not saying they aren't really good, but LSU's offence is really bad. Ok St could have put points on the board. And I'm not saying Ok St would have beat Bama, but they wouldn't have been shut out. And it would have been a better game. But that's neither here nor there.

Apparently a playoff is gaining steam??

I'd like a 4 team playoff, and I think it's on the way after how many people bitched and moaned that OSU didn't get a shot. And I dislike the BCS as much as the next person, but ironically, I think it got it right this year, and in most years.

And yeah, USC is going to be tough to beat in '12.

Here's to a great '11 and looking forward already to the kickoff of the '12 season... Roll Tide!

...except that whole first time they played them.

This I am in much agreement with. The game with OSU would have probably been much more interesting as they would have mustered up something. As for the playoff thing, that is all I have been hearing all day. I am not even a bit surprised by it though. As soon as I knew that the LSU/BAMA rematch was a sure fire thing, I knew that playoff talks would accompany it.

Even now the BCS big shots are in a secret meeting to discuss the dismantling of the Men's NCAA basketball tournament.

They deserve to be champs but to me they're not the "clear" champs. I think if those two teams played 10 times they'd probably win 5 games each. But I always felt LSU was a little vulnerable at the QB position, and Alabama exposed that weakness.

I think I heard that was the lowest rated BCS Championship Game ever.

My initial thought was that the 2012 Championship Game will match USC and Alabama, but USC will probably have to beat Oregon twice to get there, and that will not be easy.

Absolutely not! UA did not win their own division, did not win their own conference, and could not even win at home against LSU during the season. Funny how you always hear that UA is picked on by the NCAA, the media, and fans across the country but somehow their given a free pass to play in the National Championship game. I hope all the people at ESPN are happy with their sucking up and swallowing to UA now. They got what they wanted in the end.

I know I am happy! ROLL TIDE!!!

Next year's champion will come from the Pac-12. I guarantee it. The winner of the Pac-12 title game, Oregon or Southern Cal, will win the national title. Mark it down.

Here's my :2 cents: on the NC game: LSU had the better team on all fronts, except the two most important. Alabama had a better offense and they definitely have a better coaching staff. Add in the fact that the LSU players were partying too much in the days before the game, it's a surprise the score wasn't worse.

Moving on...

As for next BCS championship, everyone seems to be pushing Bama, Oregon, or USC, but not LSU. The Bengal Tigers will be loaded, their schedule isn't too tough, except maybe Texas A&M, and they have an open date before playing Bama at home, while Bama doesn't have an open date before the LSU game. LSU does have two glaring problems:

1) Quarterback - They haven't had a decent QB in years, and when you platoon two or more not-so-good QB's, you're not giving either a chance to mature.

2) Les Miles - If this guy ever gets his head outta his ass, they could do some real damage. He reminds me of Pat Dye, outstanding at recruiting, but mediocre at coaching, winning mostly with an overwhelming defense.

If LSU can solve just one of these problems, they will make a return.

Recruiting

Here in Alabama, Nick Saban is really being raked over the coals for his classless moves of yanking scholarship offers. Can anyone tell me, how's the media outside of Bama commenting?

Does anyone outside the South actually care about recruiting rankings? I'm under the impression that it's just something SEC (and to lesser extent, ACC) fanboys like to talk about cuz they can brag about how well their school did in signing a bunch of kids, 1/3 of which will either eventually transfer, get kicked off the team, or be ruled academically ineligible.
