changing the subject...

Ivan Ljubicic made the semis, where he will face Nadal.

It's his best performance in a big event (Grand Slams and Masters 1000) since his Miami 2007 SF -3 years ago-), so, it's big good news for the croatian. This will put him inside the top-20 next week.

but Nadal is playing strong. My guess is that Rafa will trough, and lose the final against any of the Andy's (or maybe Soderling). I mean, he's playing strong, but not THAT strong, for beating a top-10 (specially Murray)

If I could be the man she came home to I would make her happiest woman on the planet. :o

i'm sure you would, buddy ;)

in other (shocking) news, Ivan Ljubicic won the ATP Masters 1000 of Indian Wells!

31 years old, beat Djokovic, Nadal and Roddick and play the final after a 2 and a half marathon against Rafa... damn! that's what i call a surprise!

good for him. It's his 1st Masters 1000 title (after 3 failed finals), his first title of the year and his first in the last 5 months.

He will rise now to the 13th spot in the rankings (his best in almost 4 years).

and in the other side...

a BIG disappointment for Roddick. I mean, he avoid Federer and Murray, defeatead a weak Soderling... and couldn't with Ivan Ljubicic, the number 26 in the world? you gotta be a little down for that, Andy...

next saturday we're waiting for Miami, where DelPo and Davydenko are already out :(
Roger, Murray and Cilic should be playing better, IMO. Not the same for Nole and Rafa (they will be lucky if they made the SF, if you ask me)

lechepicha,

She looks like an angel in that picture. She just looks like perfection. :( If I could be the man she came home to I would make her happiest woman on the planet. :o

Oooh, let's get our little Romeo here a box of kleenex. His heart is weighing him down...

Four former champions lead the Sony Ericsson Open Men's draw

http://www.tennisearth.com/news/ten...d-the-Sony-Ericsson-Open-Mens-draw-864961.htm

i'd love to see Roger playing Simon (he's 0-2 against the frenchman!)
and Nole has a PRETTY DAMN tough draw: Gasquet in 2nd round, Blake in 3rd, Querrey/Monfils in 4th and Roddick/Ljubicic in QF! ufffff... and on top of that, he's playing too shaky this entire year (even in his Dubai title, he struggled and lost a lot of sets).

Can't wait for Miami, particurlarly if Ljubijic can replicate his form/Watson, Baltacha and the other brits in the womens draw and of course Caroline getting her revenge over JJ and the rest.

:)

Are Nadal and Federer entered in the Miami tourney? Maybe we'll get what we all want....

yep, they're there.

Federer-Murray and Nole-Rafa are the projected SFs

it would be nice to see them face each other again... specially when in 2009 only watch'em two times (Australia and Madrid finals).

their first two matches were in the Miami Masters, actually: the first one in 2004, where Rafa won, and the 2nd one in 2005, where Roger won in a 5-set epic.

in other news, pics from the Miami 2010 kick-off party (Wozniacki included!):

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal going in opposite directions

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports...er-rafael-nadal-going-in-opposite-441436.html

It is Federer who has won four Grand Slam tournament titles since losing to Nadal at the All England Club almost two years ago. Nadal, meanwhile, has only the aforementioned Australian Open crown during the same time span. It is Federer, now with a record 16 major titles, who has re-established himself at No. 1 and reasserted his greatness while Nadal has dealt with angst and bad knees

Gasquet is probably washed up and won't come back to his former top 10 form.

Discuss.

hist last final was in Sydney just a couple months ago, so, he's far from finished. BUT, coming back to the top-10, that's a loooong shot.

All in all, he's pretty good, BUT he's in a big and deep slump. Maybe in Wimbledon he can recover a little bit.

Nadal needs to go back to the Muscle shirts. The guns, the intimidation..he has none of it anymore. He is truly Samson without his hair...:dunno::crying:

couldn't agree more. His signature was his looks, no doubt.

BUT i guess Nike was tired of that and command him to change.

in Miami, he will lose in QF of SF, you can bet on that, but in Montecarlo, in his loved clay, if he doesn't win, i guess it's safe to say that he won't be the same again.

All matches in Miami is washed out atm. Feels like a wimbledon rain break...

Karlovic must be annoyed to wait to win just 1 match to go to the next round.
