Can some one tell me if this is true about LA?

I ask my friend do black guys in Los Angeles have dread locks and he said dread locks is not popular in LA is that true?

I have never heard of dreadlocks not being popular in L.A, unless this is some type of new thing.
I lived out there for nearly 10 years and saw plenty of dreadlocks.
