The Oscars are far from perfect, but compared to other award shows they do a decent job of rewarding less commercial projects. If there's another big award show that panders less to the mainstream than the Oscars please let me know. :)

I would think they're all "unknowns." That's usually the case in competitions like this.

I would be the last one to trifle with one who follows his personal convictions... on the contrary I have a great deal of respect for someone who is willing to take a stand for what he believes in. However, that said, I don't like the idea of deleting threads, especially if it's for no reason...
