The Oscars are far from perfect, but compared to other award shows they do a decent job of rewarding less commercial projects. If there's another big award show that panders less to the mainstream than the Oscars please let me know. :)

I would think they're all "unknowns." That's usually the case in competitions like this.

I would be the last one to trifle with one who follows his personal convictions... on the contrary I have a great deal of respect for someone who is willing to take a stand for what he believes in. However, that said, I don't like the idea of deleting threads, especially if it's for no reason...

No prob! :thumbsup: I was very close to doing the same but that section gets a lot less traffic than this one. Technically, it's the right spot to start this thread, but I've found CN to be more practical for smaller stories rather than larger, "breaking news" type stories. :)
