Well I don't know what have you done but it surely gets better, try to increase brightness and gamma (gamma just a bit) and then play with contrast. Of course, even like this it isn't perfect but surely better.

For all those lucky guys like me who have the 1080p Black Magic Woman video, just open it with VLC and try to mess a little with contrast, gamma, brightness etc etc and this is THE video!!!
