This ACA was being sold before it was written. Mitt wouldn't show his national (not medical) plan in the same way...IT WASN'T FUCKING WRITTEN YET! What do the people vote for? Ask ourselves honestly, is this clusterfuck of a health care system NOW A LAW any better choice than the unknown of the Mitt?

What's a "clusterfuck" about it, an overwhelmed website? Yes, it's a terrible failure because so many people want to sign up that the server crashed. And we keep hearing these anecdotes about people's insurance being cancelled or their rates going through the roof. I call ***** **** on that, too, because we know far-right outlets aren't above putting out lies and exaggerations to try to sway public opinion. I suspect for every legitimate cancellation or rate hike a hundred are fake and manufactured by the right-wing lie machine.
Anybody upset about this just remember the biggest problem of this is that it's a half-assed solution that came about because it was a lot better than the republican's no-ass solution, and because of political lack of will there was no way to get something better. To many of our politicians either didn't care about health care for their people or caved in and this is what we got instead.
If we would of just had a government run universal single payer health system all this crap wouldn't be happening now. Too bad too many people out there have an irrational fear of the socialist boogyman coming to get them or are just plain selfish asses.

Yep, I've been saying that all along. This could have been a better law if it had more input and less staunch opposition. It absolutely would have been a better law if the republicans hadn't ****** the government to drop the single payer part.
But also like I've been saying, as have many others, this isn't the final version of America's health care, it's the first step toward a successful, workable system, and it's already miles better than what we had before.

I am not going to blame the administration for IT fuck ups. The fact of the matter is that we are only finding out NOW what we have to do to comply and the coming deadline. ACA was blindly ****** and nothing was done between then till now to prepare us for the roll out. Those warnings that we all couldn't keep our existing coverage as promised were blown off as propaganda. Now we are in reality with a deadline. If us people had known earlier what our providers needed to change in our policies then there would not be so much panic. It would absolutely thin the rush to the deadline. This isn't as simple as changing speed limit signs. A slower and more informed roll out would ease our way into compliance. Let the legislators have their ******* contests to change things but for Christ's sakes, let me know what I have to do NOW for me to comply.

This is the result of 3 years of deliberate misinformation from the republican party, everything from death panels to 20 thousand dollar premiums. 80% of America gets to keep their policy. 14% that were uninsured will now get coverage. Of the remaining 6%, 3% will have to change policies, but will end up with similar coverage and premiums to what they have now, and 3% will have to switch to a higher quality, higher premium plan.
Republicans think there's no way it's worth the cost increase to those 3% to insure those other 14%, because they're morons.

I am not really sure about what Obama is supposed to have lied about. Perhaps you can elucidate - preferably without the use of numbers, figures and statistics, which, as we all know, can be and are manipulated by whoever wants to prove their point.
As for ACA - As I see it, it is an attempt to ensure that all policies will have a basic level of cover and to get rid of those that do not hit this target. It should leave competition wide open for the insurance companies to offer what they can and for everyone to be able to compare what these companies have on offer and for how much. It allows for the poor to be covered and should ensure that policy holders are not left bankrupt because they are not up to scratch.
Whether or not this has been achieved or will be achieved will only be seen once it has been up and running for a few years.
Anyone who lives in the real world will realise that nothing ever turns out exactly as envisioned and that tweaks will be needed on the way.

You seem to know all the answers, I just thought I should have the source material so that I can look at it and give a more informed opinion. What you are arguing here is that he couldn't close Gitmo without Republican support but he could ram through the most comprehensive top down government legislation in our history in Obamacare but didn't need Republican support. So which is it?

The problem is that the insurance company MUST change it to include additional items under the ACA. The question then is whether or not he thought it through when he said that you can keep your policy.
