You know Michael Keaton is still alive. I'm not against seeing the real Batman come back.
While I haven't really seen a tonne of his more recent movies but Affleck has been drawing a lot of critical praise lately (more as a director than an actor, but as an actor too) so it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Im not going to knock Afleck. They could have done worse. No one can fill Christian Bale's shoes. Part of me wants to feel sorry for Superman fans / comic book fans. But you know what? That's what you fanboys get for your rediculous franchise combining fetishes. I have never seeen Avengers and I will never see Justice League. What the hell is up with that? Why the hell do you want to combine Batman and Superman any way? Why the hell did people want Freddy and Jason combined? Dont you know that just takes each of those characters out of thier worlds and makes them less authentic? Nolan's Batman and Snyder's Superman were two totally different worlds. It wouldnt have worked if Bale's Batman were in that movie. People criticize George Lucas for the decisions he made with Star Wars, and I didnt agree with every single thing he did. But atleast he wouldnt have been stupid enough to allow Star Wars to be combined with Star Trek. Oh well, atleast I will have the satisfaction of knowing that Nolan's holy Dark Knight Trilogy will never be messed with. Its just unfortunate we cant say the same about Snyder's Superman. What a joke. Oh well. I didnt think Man of Steel was all that great anyway. Im wondering if the guys at WB privately realized that MOS did way better at the box office than it deserved, and therefore as a cynical ploy they decided to combine Superman and Batman for the sequel. Atleast they kept their grubby hands away from Nolan when he was doing The Dark Knight trilogy.

Honestly, I'm the biggest DC fan I can think of (but no, I don't live in a basement, I have a life, just enjoy comics lol). That said, if anyone thinks this is a bad choice, it's okay that it's your opinion, but you really don't know the Batman/Bruce Wayne character or Afflecks acting. Happy surprise today when I heard this. Fuck, we could have been stuck with Brolin or Bloom. That's all.
I'd like the real Batman to come back but Bale doesn't want to.
I wonder how many people bitching about this have actually seen a film starring Affleck in the last ten years.
I just hope Michael Cane, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman stay the hell away from this. Please leave Nolan's Dark Knight universe alone.
