I'm curious, as are a lot of other people...

I'm curious if Bill Maher slammed the muslims like he did Tebow last week. If you heard his monologue, I would think most here would find it reprehensible.

I see your point to a certain extent. A lot of people are too chicken **** to talk about Muslims because your life will most likely be threatened. Bill Maher has talked about Muslims/Islam & ALL religions, so that's where your wrong (You should watch his film "Religulous"). Everybody talks about Tebow (positively & negatively) because he's whats "in the news".

 A facepalm should just be attached to every post you do on this site.
Bill Maher hates all religions.

:dito:

Maybe I'm coming to this Tebow controversy late, but I thought all the complaints were; he couldn't get his ass in gear the first half of the game.

People care what Bill Maher thinks? :dunno:

People **** Tebow because he's a **** QB. Quit acting like everybody is attacking his religious beliefs only.

My thoughts?? ... Let's talk about the Tebow picture in and of itself. Now what's the difference with what Tebow is doing here and what the Latin players do when they get up to bat? They make the Sign of the Cross when they get into the batter's box. Correct? Or when sluggers hit a home run, they look up to the sky towards God and point with their index finger toward the heavens. Nothing to criticize here.

Some truth to that STDiva...he IS a **** QB, as much as I want to say he's not...right now. I've been pulling for him since the beginning of the season...couldn't understand why Fox wouldn't even give the *** a chance, because quite frankly, Kyle Orton is worse. I'm sorry, Orton was a loser...I mean that in a literal sense. I do agree with the OP that, at least what I'm inferring from his post, that the main problem people have with Tebow is his closeness to religion...football fans are more upset with his playing ability...which, I'm telling you, I live in the Denver area, I watch the games, I read the local sports writers, I listen to the call in radio shows...Fox is keeping him shackled. Unleash him, let him play his brand of fucking football, and I would bet dollars to fucking donuts that you'd see a different QB. Keep in mind too that he is still a ***, a rookie, that did not have the benefit of pre-season, and came into the organization in the midst of incredible turmoil and controversy...I don't care who you are, that **** has got to be unbelievably difficult to deal with. But Tebow has handled it with grace and dignity, something I think most in his situation would not have done. I hope we hang on to him for at least another year...I really do think he'll be the QB of the Broncos future.

Everything else aside, you can't ignore the facts...he took over for a team that was 1-4, and helped get them to the playoffs, without the team's leading receiver. I say give him some time, and ya know, if he wants to pray and talk about God, so what? It's better than listening to most of the mental giants out there flashing their bling and gold teeth.

Just my opinion.

I know...but he barely played.

Get it right, Galactic!!

I don't care about his religious stuff. I don't care that he's a fantastic guy or that he has a nice penis. He's garnered way too much hype, and that's why I want his fans to be humbled. Someone said he was revolutionizing the position!!! C'mon, if his fans are going to make outrageous claims like that, there's going to be backlash. You don't see me hootin and hollerin about Alex Smith. It's cool to have faith in your guy, but people need to keep it real.

Maybe a misfire on the Bill Maher comment. I can see where you're coming from. IMO I often find Bill funny and think he is very bright, but he is way too impressed with himself for me to take more than a small dose of him.

I think your original point has merit. It seems that Tebow is doing nothing more than irking some people with his display of faith (and the college style of play, etc). I would also suspect that those same people who find it easy to speak out against Tebow would be quiet on blatant hypocrisies found with what some people do in the name of Islam. I think that is what Bill M was saying as well.

I believe your original post has merit. The Bill M comment is an understandable misstep and the catch on that was actually kind of a cool posting, but a bit unforgiving.

Well of course people are gonna say outlandish ****...personally, I think all the media attention, while unavoidable, was detrimental to Tebow...calling him the Fourth Quarter Friar and Mile High Messiah, while funny, was setting him up for a gigantic human crash back to earth...the dude is human, and I sometimes think people were forgetting that fact...it was getting weird here in the Denver area man, real weird...

Fact is, he's not revolutionizing the position, he's not reforming the game, or anything like that...he's a young QB who got tossed into a media maelstrom...he's a young QB who does not have the faith or commitment of upper management...Fox needs to go or get with the damn program and let this *** play the way he's able to play.

I think God talk frightens a lot of people, and that also set him up for people wanting to see him fall...thing is, he was gonna fall...no WAY that **** could continue...call it Mile High Magic or whatever you want, but it was fucking luck.

The thing I like about Tebow is that he's exciting to watch...a lot like the Elway days, you just know that something amazing might happen...the game isn't over till it's over, and with Tebow at the helm, that rings even truer. But I'm with you on the hype...it was crazy ridiculous. Fans are going to say crazy ****. But you know what Tebow did? He didn't get caught up in that. He didn't fall for the gotcha questions reporters continue to fire at him...the dude really stays true to what he believes. He has no problem or fear of stating his beliefs. I think that freaks a lot of people, but fuck them. I'm a Tebow fan, but I don't think he's going to be resurrecting the glory days of Denver football any time soon...I hope he does, but I realistically don't think that's going to happen.
