I think the woman in your avatar wouldn't be smiling so happily if she knew the thoughts I was having about her...
What does that have to do with what I said?

Ah Mega and Hellraiser. Both of you are doing a bang up job supporting Him even as the curtain falls. Doing you're liberal duty of blaming scapegoats and Corporate conspiracies. Songs and poems will be written for your intrepid loyalty!!!!!!!11111
To you fanatic supporters I take my hat off and shout
Haroo!!!! Hip Hip!!!!! Huzzah!!!!

Until you can take special interests, graft and corruption, bribes and kickbacks, influence peddling, money being the determining factor in "buying" a political office like it was a box of cereal....I could go on....out of the equation, it is far from perfect. I agree that, on paper, it is as fine a political system as there is. It's in the practical application in today's world that it breaks down and breaks down badly.
You didn't vote Obama in to be a king or dictator where he simply wills things into being.
Only after I received four email invitations and two personal calls imploring me to come did I call Speaker Pelosi’s office to check the admission price. “You mean, to be in the room with the President of the United States is now on fire sale for $100?”
”Yup.”
“How long do we get?”
“Half hour.”
“How many $100 givers have rsvp’d?”
“Mmmm 250.”
“Do we need to line up early to get in?”
“That’s not necessary. Everybody will get in.”
And everybody did—450 people in a room that holds 650. Even Obama’s fire sale didn’t sell out.
But the foot soldiers were a cheerful bunch.
Well, the guy who made that famous "Hope" poster is losing hope

And he couldn't fill up the Roosevelt Room in that known right wing enclave that is NEW YORK CITY!!

Yup, and foot soldiers they are, which is just another word for "cannon fodder".
But I'm sure he had followers who if for a brief period would've allowed Him to be President for life during the Love Obama Cult frenzy that stupidly had hundreds of thousands putting aside common sense for unwavering fanaticism to a man they didn't know.
I didn't. But I'm sure he had followers who if for a brief period would've allowed Him to be President for life during the Love Obama Cult frenzy that stupidly had hundreds of thousands putting aside common sense for unwavering fanaticism to a man they didn't know.
LOL @ the "a man they didn't know" nonsense...
He was a United States senator who'd been a two term Illinois state senator.
Prior to that he'd been the President of the Harvard Law Review and taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago for 12 years.
He gave the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National convention, an address millions of americans watched, either live or after the fact on tape.
So the whole "out of nowhere" crap is just that, crap, as HM also noted in a more expanded fashion in the post above.
Oh yeah whatever.
You act like everyone on the street knew everything about Obama. Gimme a break.
He was an unknown until '07 when the media got wind and made him a household name.
Go sell your Obama propaganda to the dozen or so people who still believe in his Hope, Change, Yes We Can garbage.
^
Obama was unknown until 2007?You really are the last person I'll go to for my Obama info...:******:
Do you remember, I dunno, 2004? Google Obama and 2004 :dunno:
Serious question. Do you ever swoop off from your Centrist perch to actually learn anything real about the Dems?
Yeah, everyone on the street knows "everything" every candidate who runs for POTUS.
I suppose that's why they campaign...
But even if you're granted that fantasy...Obama announced his candidacy in Jan or Feb of '07 and was elected in Nov of '08...that's almost 2 years of campaigning for an office. Fucking Houdini couldn't hide who he was and what he was about for that long.
Give it up man....sheesh.
Go sell your Obama propaganda to the dozen or so people who still believe in his Hope, Change, Yes We Can garbage.:1orglaugh
I don't think they can give it up.
They desperately need that "out of nowhere" integer to sustain their Welfare Messiah and Manchurian Candidate fantasies.
They desperately need to maintain allot of malarkey to sustain their kooky fantasies.
I gotta hand it to them...they have no shame. Only they could argue out of the same mouth...he was covered too much and not enough at the same time.
I'm still debating if that's better than the 20 years in a church but he's a Muslim thing or the he's a Muslim "terrist" symp but he appoints Jews to the USSC and the highest posts in his Admin thing....![]()
Sometime politicians get stuck with something and they just can't get it off of them. I think the discussion of what religion he is doesn't matter, but that is me. :2 cents:
You can understand some of the fringe taking hold of this though.
He admitted that Jerimiah Wright was his mentor for 20 years. So, those 20 years you mention are not what middle America can relate to.
Obama's grandfather was a Muslim. Obama said studied the Qu'ran and what Obama describes as a Muslim public school.
With all of the controversy, Obama describes the Muslim praying as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth."
Again, my opinion :2 cents:, with the exception of his association with Wright, none of this is a bad thing. Islam is a legitimate religion. I know beautiful people who practice it. I'm catholic and I'll admit not having a full appreciation of Islam and its culture.
However, you have to admit, this is one of those things that is sticking to Obama. True or not true. If I was to grade him on his performance and handling of the issue (and oddly enough nobody has asked me to do this!) I would give him a C-.
So, I'm not going to complain that the poor president has to explain himself. Even George Washington had to explain himself at times.
