First of all, John Hagee is your typical "fire and brimstone" type of Southern Baptist minister. I don't agree with everything he says, but I do agree with most of it.

He says that America will pay a price, and God will be the one exacting that price. We can all choose to believe that or not.

The point is, as I've stated in several threads, that there is a HUGE difference between Christianity and islam. Muslims feel it is within their moral right to use ******** to further the cause of their religion and way of life. Christians do not. Nowhere in that video did you hear John Hagee suggest that we should use ******** to get our agenda across.

Some people who think they are do the bidding of the religion think it's okay to **** in the name of it. Some so called Muslims do and are wrong. Some so called Christians do and are wrong.

The guy who ****** Tiller and those who have plotted and carried similar attacks believe with all their hearts they are instruments to effect God's will.

I'm not talking about that damn mosque. I'm talking about that insanely fanatical religion. And nobody is going to change my mind about that. Like I said no one can tell the difference between a sleeper cell of terrorists and a bunch of regular Muslims unless they're part of the intelligence community.

Too bad. People have not only have a right to practice any religion they want in the US but construct places to worship. Can you tell the difference between and anti g'ment militia and and a regular old survivalist?

Some believe that he is a radical anti-American Muslim but fail to recognize that those same radical fundamentalists actually despise the Sufi's. This is what you don't understand. I am neither for or against them building it. I couldn't care less whether the thing goes up or not.

I am against those who would trample the constitutional rights of anyone practicing their freedom of religion in building a place of worship where they have the right to in the US.

If Hagee built a Church smack dab in the middle of GZ it wouldn't bother me one way or the other.

1. If you actually READ the stories, Obama's "support" for the place has been limited to just their obvious "right" to build it - he's steered clear of specifically endorsing. Pointing out their right to do so is just - duh - obvious.

2. The place is not really a mosque - a prayer area is going to just be one part of the whole place, along with a 9/11 Memorial.

3. It's NOT at Ground Zero. It's blocks away, where all sorts of other miscellaneous businesses are, including strip clubs.

This is about generic bigotry and hatred towards Muslims, period.

I'm hardly a fan of religion, period, and I have no tolerance to the thought of Shariah law, just as I don't any Bible-based plan for American theocracy, either. We're a secular land that allows people to worship or not as they please, but the churches and church leaders don't get to run things.

As long as the Imams steer clear of that sort of **** (and, obviously, making plans or providing support for terrorist attacks), I couldn't care less if they build an Islamic center. And if they really want to try to make nice with people of other faiths, good luck to them.

Until people wise up and just let go of religion (or at least their literalist, fundamentalist, over-zealous, frothing-at-the-mouth variations of it), that's about all I can hope for.
