What are the worst areas of your city?

well here in SF, theres:

the Tenderloin
The Bay View
Hunters Point
PARTS of the Mission

ultimately all of those places arent completely bad, there are fair amounts of good, hard working people in each of them. but they are known more for their darker sides.

just like every other district in The City, even my beloved Sunset Dist. have their dark sides behind their bigger brighter sides

What about the Haight, where my ****** died on the streets from a heroin OD in the '70's, has that improved ? :p I don't know, I never seem to have any business up in San Fran. if I do it's just lunch.

In my hometown of Kiel, it is Mettenhof ...

You could say it is what you americans call 'The Projects' in Chicago. Built in the 60ies and 70ies, they are a couple of ugly oversized boxes now inhabitated by mostly migrant families.

Lots of petty and not quite so petty crimes, and if you look for *****, just walk around the block there. Of course, chances are, you find a beatdown and loose your wallet and mobile phone before you meet a dealer of your choice

Of course, if you are willing to take the risk, you can get a three-room appartment for really cheap money there.

And I guess if I want to write a book, I will move there for a year

At least link the English language site! I can't even find the language change icon as it's written in German.

What about the Haight? :p

What about it? It's still overrun by dirty, pot-smoking hippies. :spin:

I'm kind of the same way, actually. Yeah, there's the fact that a good 75% of my work is in or around SF, but if I ever go on a day when there's no work it's only to eat at Dottie's or Tommy's, or to go to a strip club. flylicker

^ Yea, I don't know what it is about SF, I just get these anxiety attacks after being there for more than a couple hours, it's like there's a voice telling me to get out now or never . . . Bwahahaha

I oblige :o

The far south side in Inglewood is fucked up, pretty much most of the south side from old Comisky Park/Hyde Park neighborhood on south. The west side near Garfield Park, Humbolt Park and Logan Square is just the same with the fucking street gangs and ****. I wouldn't venture on 18th or 26th street in the Mexican hoods after sundown on weekends. Rogers Park and Lil' Vietnam on the north side is crazy.

I'm so looking toward a nice peaceful summer this year!!! :nanner:

Is Cabrini Green as bad as the stories about it?

Back in the 70's, 80's and early 90's it was. Now, half of Cabrini is already torn down with new real estate developments. The most notorious public housing in Chicago was the Robert Taylor Homes [already gone] near old Comisky Park, that was a no-mans land after dark, literally!

I have a friend from Chicago and he said all the ghetto thugs were all White Sox fans in Chicago and the rich boys liked the Cubs. lol, maybe because they all lived by Comiskey.

Is it like the movie Gummo? LOL. Born in the Detroit area and going to College 30 minutes from Youngstown and travelling the turnpike about 75 times. Ohio is always a wonderful and strange breed. Some of my best friend are from the area too. I am sure it just like Michigan and just as weird as us, but we can tie our shoes.

Been quite some time since I've seen Gummo, and as I remember, it was quite a bit like this town.

Malmo. The Turkish and other foreigners (from what I hear) have taken that city over.
I live in the other end of the country.
But I don't think Malmö is as bad as some makes you want to believe.
There is one bad area called Rosengård,which you probably have heard of over there, but the rest of the city I think is pretty much ok.
Most of the trouble in Rosengård is caused by teenagers with nothing to do.
I think the rest of the population,or most of it are regular people who wants peace and quiet.
Many of the riots there have been caused by people who doesn't even live in Malmö.
The muslims actually threw out a bunch of anarchists last december.
However there is a problem with muslims harassing jews causing them to leave town.
