Confrontation is not physical ******** and no where did I allude to it.

It is bringing these people into the daylight, into the sunlight: It is teaching **** specifically about how **** groups recruit using broad, sweeping rhetoric to get their hooks in to them. It is informed and responsible reporting on TV, radio and print, not to bring the reporters ratings, but to show the ignorance and even evil of groups like this. It is taking the "lone gunman" seriously because even he can recruit followers. It is talking about it. It is keeping them scrambling by not giving them the podium because "our voices" are louder, united and ultimately, correct.

I don't neccesarily think that any of those examples that I suggested are **** groups, I just think that it's kind of a murky territory and I was demonstarting that depending on your POV you could draw any conclusion that you wanted. Which is consequently the same thing that Phelps group does. the thing those groups have in common is that none of them think that they are **** groups and they may give that title to others while standing by that they are in the right and they are the one's being victimized. Which, once again, may or may not be true.

ultimately, I guess, for me it doesn't really matter. you just have to look at the circumstances of anything and decide what you think is right or wrong. I don't really care if these guys (phels group) are right and saintly, I think that their actions are disgusting.

Emotion aside, do you really feel this way, or are you annoyed with the image of these people upsetting mourners, and need to vent?
'Cause these people may be wrong, and they may be really rude, and they may infuriate me as much as they do you...but I have no doubt they believe what they are saying.
I think they really do see the punishment of a vengeful God being visited on Sodom, and they are trying to warn us and, by definition, to save us from God's wrath.
Whether they are saintly or assholes only matters for the sake of discussion; once they show up at anyones funeral and begin to inflict the pain and disrespect on the mourners, they need to be dealt with.
I like the Riders who line up between them and the funeral, using their physical presence along with the rumble of their idling engines to insulate the mourners from their hateful spew.

What upsets me about situations such as these lunatics present is how they think they have the right to slam their beliefs down someone's throat and that they feel they are infallible and are not wrong. I have no problem with people protesting for the right reasons, but these people condemn those without even knowing anyone. Basically my response to them is "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU TO JUDGE ANYONE?" with an extremist ideal like that, its obvious there is something wrong there. There is completely no tolerance for these types of people. I wasn't just referring to these, I am referring to ANY EXTREMIST. These people deal in absolutes and common sense would say, uhhh look at both sides before you start condeming people. And as for them getting their asses beat, I'm not expecting them to agree with me or whathaveyou. But its their utter disrespect for the victims and their families and the same goes for the soldiers, they condemn them and they are only doing what they are told. I'm getting into this a little late so other people have said a lot of what I would have said. I think it's our duty as parents to teach the next generation the stupidity people like this have. We teach people about the world and reality and do our best. In a lot of ways that is the best we can do.

I think what some people say is sad, but I do defend their right to say it. There will always be fools and unfortunately in a free society they will always have the right to be that way. It is one of the many prices of freedom people forget about, but one we will always have to pay. In some respects I'm almost glad when idiots speak out. There will always be wise people out there that will know the truth. When we let them speak out we can record what they say and show it the rest of time. In that way their own words will brand them forever. They will show, by their own action, generation after generation that comes after us just how far they have fallen.

It's the one's that don't make thier agenda obvious and carry it out covertly that you really gotta watch out for.

One thing that really kinda pissed me off, I don't know where to say it, but I wanted to say it, so I guess I'll say it here. I feel nothing but sympathy and condolense for the victims and thier familes of the virginia tech shooting, it's a real tragedy that's for sure... But on the news they keep saying this is "the worst massacre in US history" and I can't help but think of the spot, not 20 miles away from my home where more than 50 indians were ******** and that the saddest thing of all is that that is not an outstanding or uncommon event.

That goes back to what I'm saying, and what I'm always saying. I know that I seem to be going against the grain all the time, but that's becasue I'm trying to show things from other sides of the coin. To always ask, why is it percieved that one act is ******** and another not? what's **** and what isn't? who's the victim and whose the victimser? etc etc.

Unfortunately, they aren't protesting silently...they are shouting their message loudly enough for the mourners to hear.
This is so confrontational, it's begging for someone to smash the protesters down; I want to break their signs over their heads to silence them while grief-stricken families are trying to bury their dead.
But...setting aside how wrong that is as a response, that is what they want to have happen. They need some attacks to bring the confrontational protesting to the next level, and the next.
I hope the smart people keep on ignoring the tactics, and continue working to shutoff the message, thwarting the extreme confronters and effectively nullifying their attempts to provoke us.
I am willing to ****** assuming that no one has read or studied what the actual message or philosophy is of Phelps' group.
What is it based on; where does it get it's Biblical validity; and what is the end game they see for themselves?
I mostly hear generalizations about them, and nothing concrete.
"Know thine enemy" is a very wise and neccessary path to follow; not guess what he's about, but know.
