David Soul, the actor that portrayed Kenneth "Hutch" Hutchinson in Starsky & Hutch, has ****** away at 80. The article states after a long illness, but it doesn't say what illness. I used to love that show, and watched it faithfully.

Rest in peace Mr. Soul. You entertained a lot of people.

Are you sure it wasn't Hal Holbrook that was the leader, and the other 3 his minions that do his bidding? I know the black dude that played the pink Cadillac driving pimp, was also the bank robber that was asked if he felt lucky, in the first DH film, and he played a fellow cop in the one with the Auto Mag ******. In fact I think that guy was in all of the DH movies, in some role. Also, Suzanne Somers is the topless blonde in the pool, at the beginning of Magnum *****, that gets shot.

Yes, Hal Holbrook was the leader as noted in this last vignette ...

... that's the same car that was in the garage. The scariest scenes for Hal Holbrook in that film ...

As closeups were needed for the dialogue in these scenes, there were no stuntmen or doubles for this. Because the roads of San Francisco have deep hills and curves, Clint did the driving. Director Ted Post told Eastwood beforehand that he wanted him driving fast. So he did just that, unbeknownst to Holbrook who was the passenger in the car. Clint was zipping around corners and curves and up and down hills. After Lieutenant Briggs hits his head on the dashboard on a road that bottoms out badly. He gets knocked out. Hal decided to keep is eyes closed as Clint continued to drive the roads haphazardly and silently until he meets up with Robert Urich, who has been following the car since leaving Clint's apartment. Urich's Mike Grimes character then shoots out the back window of the car. During the pursuit, Urich swerves and gets ahead of the car. Clint then crashes the car into the motorcycle. ******* Urich. That's why the hood looks that way. However, Urich radios Soul and Niven about three minutes before his final scene. David Soul and Kip Niven start the pursuit and meet up with Clint's damaged car at the shipyard and the pier. You have to remember that Tim Matheson's character Phil Sweet was ****** in the stakeout with those Mafia strongmen in that shack. As he attempted to serve that search warrant.

They just don't make movies like this anymore. And thankfully, no one has tried to remake these movies either.

I would like to see a Spielberg/Hanks remake of the original "Battle of the Bulge" though. Those are the two that could pull that one off. Part 3 to the "Band of Brothers series should be out soon. It deals with an air wing this time.

I'm very sad right now. I can't begin to describe the joy that this young lady brought to my teenage life.

Rest In Peace Ms. Morgan, you brought a lot of joy to a lot of young men. And you made those same young men laugh. when they matured enough to realize how funny it all was.

That was a great movie. I can't recall how many times I watched that one late at night in the 70s.

That one ... The Great Escape and The Bridge Over the River Kwai.

And the Guns of Navarone. There were so many stars in the Bulge, I thought it was dark out. I saw a remake of it on Netflix, but it just wasn't the same. It was modern, but just not the same. It ended when the prisoners were gunned down by the Germans. I'm sure you remember that scene, it kind of fuels the viewers hatred of the ****'s, and gets them to the edge of their seat. So the newer version ended there, and left it just sort of flat, with a question mark hanging over it. But something titled, "The Arden", that was factual, but action packed. That's where my head is at. I wonder if I can send an e-mail to either one? Worse they can do is say no.

Midway (1976) had a lot of stars too and has been remade ... Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, James Coburn, Charlton Heston, Hal Holbrook, Robert Webber, Glenn Ford, Ed Nelson, Cliff Robertson, Robert Wagner, Kevin Dobson, Tom Selleck, Dabney Coleman, Christopher George, Mitchell Ryan, Biff McGuire, Kip Niven and Erik Estrada on the United States side; and Toshirô Mifune, Pat Morita, Dale Ishimoto, John Fujioka, Robert Ito, James Sigeta, Shab Shimono, Yuki Shimoda, Conrad Yama, Clyde Kusatsu, Seth Sakai and Christina Kokubo on the Japanese side.

Melanie, a folk artist of the '60's and '70's ****** away at age 76. She was best known for "Brand New Key", which some of the younger people might know from the movie "Boogie Nights".

That's sad.

A touching tribute, there.
And what would you like me to say? I've never seen ANY of her work, I didn't know her personally, and it is sad that a young like has ended when it didn't have to. Maybe find a better place to be snotty towards me, I guess you learned how to be a mod from the likes of greg and doa82.

I mean, it was just a joke so there was no need for you to fly off your handle there.

I don't know who those people are. Were they nice?

Well then I apologize. I didn't take it as a joke, because you in the past, have showed a certain disdain for me, or my posts. Of course I will admit those were based on comments made in the politics section. No, the people I mentioned were not very nice, so again, I apologize. My only excuse being it is difficult to interpret written words, as they show no inflection of voice.
